YES! I'm In!
Dismantling racism does not happen simply because there is a desire to see change and justice.

It is a process of learning how to have hard conversations and then engage in effective, collective actions.

For many white people, having these conversations without shutting down or acting with fragility can prove difficult particularly when your intent is to be an ally.

For Communities of Color, having the difficult conversations of how to support each other in dismantling racism while engaging in efforts specific to our own communities in this fight has some real challenges that need to be faced.

The On The Matter of Race Summit is a good first step on this journey to having these conversations.

While historically White people have been involved in the fight against racism, there is a desperate need for understanding how to participate in ways that productively support the efforts of Black, Indigenous, Latine/Latinx and Asian communities without upholding the conscious and subconscious practices of systemic racism.

It is important to know how to go from an ally who knows racism is wrong and who believes they treat People of Color fairly to being a comrade who is side by side with us working to dismantle the racist systems designed to create injustice and inequality for us.

For BIPOC, there is a deep need for the daily and generational effects of racism on our lives to be validated, understood further and for us to hear each other's historical pain and stories and learn how to support each other's fight for liberation.  Time to Come Together.

Who This Free Summit is For
It’s for a White Person that...
adjust
You were taught to treat people the way you want to be treated or just to be nice to people and as a result you believe you do not have racist thoughts, beliefs or ways of behaving.
adjust
You have never learned about how systemic racism works and affects BIPOC.
adjust
You know that systemic racism, privilege and power exist but have not heard BIPOC speak about their experiences and the effects on their communities.
adjust
Talking about race or racism is not something you do with other white people.
adjust
You believe that you don’t see color and that is an effective way to combat racism.
adjust
You’re a person of influence in a predominantly White community.
adjust
You work in DEI, Human resources or other positions of power in the workforce.
adjust
You’ve been accused of White fragility in conversations about racism and you do not accept that because you consider yourself to be an ally.
adjust
You tend to speak up for BIPOC without checking in on what they need from you first.
adjust
You are raising white children and you don’t know how to talk to them about racism.
adjust
You ask BIPOC to educate you about racism.
adjust
You don’t know what you can even do about racism so you choose to do nothing other than be nice and as a result, you are really not doing anything to help dismantle racism.
It’s for a BIPOC that...
adjust
Know that it is important to talk about racism and hear the experiences of other communities of color.
adjust
Need to gather with others to hear how other BIPOC are engaging in the fight against racism in their workplaces, homes and communities.
adjust
Want to hear from white people who are learning about racism and its effects on BIPOC and are using their privilege and power in the right way.
adjust
Want to strengthen their own work in this area.
adjust
Experience conversations about racism with the white people in your life and they  continue to be frustrating and unproductive.
adjust
Want to learn specifics about how to support BIPOC in these conversations and their fight to dismantle racism.
adjust
Are in positions of power supervising diverse teams.
adjust
Have loved ones who are white that you want to invite to participate in this Summit with you.
adjust
You are involved in school committees or PTA’s and you want to bring these conversations into those meetings.
adjust
You have almost given up hope that anything will really be done about racism.
adjust
You know how racism affects your life and community of color and you want to learn more about how it shows up systemically for other communities of color.
adjust
You want to be involved in the fight against racism but don’t know what others are doing and where there might be a place for you.
White people, especially those who are seen as leaders in the workplace or in their communities, have to do the work to find their voice and practice actively being supportive allies in the fight against racism. Going from an ally to a comrade involves the work of being side by side with us in the work of dismantling racism. It is more than hanging a BLM sign or posting it on your website. It is being in the trenches with us and making this a priority in your life.

BIPOC are already out there making our voices heard and it is hard, but it is even harder doing all of the work in our separate communities. We all have our work to do, but coming together and hearing what other communities of color are doing and how we might support one another is a crucial part of the fight.

Don’t Just Say You Want to Do Something to End Racism.
Do More by Attending This Summit

This is the time to join others and learn how to be a real factor in the conversation.

The On The Matter of Race Summit is here to help you learn to do that in ways that support, but do not center White-ness.

For white people, this is the opportunity you’ve been seeking to learn more by challenging your beliefs, even the belief that what you have been doing to show that you are an ally is enough.

For BIPOC, this is your opportunity to learn what is already being done by BIPOC and how you can support others in this work.
