A facilitated journey toward open, meaningful, honest conversations about racism and taking action to address it, designed for White people.
The On The Matter Of Race program was created four years ago by Dr. Lynne Maureen Hurdle at the request of two White women seeking to honestly learn about and take action against racism in the United States. We gathered a committed group of eight White people to go on our first six-month learning journey and now we are seven groups strong and we are hosting our first live, in-person conference in historic Washington DC.
The On the Matter of Race Experience is a 6-month community experience in which White People are exposed to the world of systemic racism in order to understand the divide between being a White Person in the United States of America and being a Black, Indigenous, Latinx or Asian Person. Here students are challenged to deconstruct the privilege, subconscious bias, historical racism, systematic segregation and lifestyle differences that separate White People, Black People and other people of color.
This program is a container where White People who truly want to contribute to changing the racist systems in the United States of America are taught to dismantle the psychological structures in their mind to fully open their eyes to the disparity between Blacks and Whites in the world around them.
